Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian held during his visit to the Lebanese capital of Beirut a meeting with a delegation representing Palestinian faction leaders, people familiar with the matter told Al Mayadeen.
The Palestinian delegation included Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) Secretary-General Ziyad al-Nakhalah, Hamas top official Osama Hamdan, and Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) Deputy Secretary-General Jameel Mizhir.
The meeting was also attended by Mehdi Shushtari, the Assistant Iranian Foreign Minister for West Asia and North Africa Affairs, and Iranian Ambassador to Lebanon Mojtaba Ammani.
Sources told Al Mayadeen that at the beginning of the meeting, al-Nakhalah provided insights into the current situation in the Gaza Strip, emphasizing the resilience of the resistance and the Palestinian people.
He affirmed that "signs of victory are emerging on the horizon, stemming from this steadfastness."
According to sources, al-Nakhalah pointed out that "the time is in favor of the resistance," while highlighting that the Israeli enemy is facing internal and international pressure, failing to achieve any of its objectives.
Al-Nakhalah expressed gratitude for "Iran and the Axis of Resistance's role in Operation al-Aqsa Flood," emphasizing the importance of Palestinian unity to achieve the highest possible accomplishments in this battle.
He also underlined that it was necessary to be prepared for the post-victory phase, which he said would include addressing the problems faced by the people of Gaza as a consequence of the war.
The latest public communication between Iran and the Palestinian Resistance factions was a February 1 phone between Amir-Abdollahian and Hamas political bureau chief Ismail Haniyeh, who expressed that the immediate end of Israeli crimes against the people of Gaza is necessary for establishing peace and stability throughout the region.
The Iranian Foreign Minister expressed his admiration for the Palestinian Resistance over the last 4 months in the face of the ongoing Israeli aggression in Gaza, emphasizing that the Palestinians, as the owners of the land of Palestine, have the full right to determine their future, emphasizing that "no party can impose their will and political plans on them."
Haniyeh reported on the steadfastness of the Palestinian people and their Resistance groups in Gaza and the West Bank, as well as the plans and political initiatives suggested to bring an end to the Israeli aggression in Gaza and the exchange of prisoners, while emphasizing that the Resistance groups maintain unity and integration.
Amir-Abdollahian also held a separate call with al-Nakhalah, in which he expressed the necessity of continued Palestinian, regional, and international efforts to immediately stop Israeli crimes in Gaza, provide humanitarian aid to the Palestinian people, and oppose any forced displacement of the people of Palestine.
He reiterated his admiration and praise for the Resistance and underlined the importance of Palestinians deciding their future.
Al-Nakhalah expressed his support for the country of Iran, its leader, and its President for their commitment to the freedom of Palestine.
He touched on the heroic resistance of the people in Palestine and groups in Gaza and the West Bank, emphasizing that the Palestinian people and resistance will be victorious in their battle against the Israeli occupation.
