Iran’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Amir Saeid Iravani, firmly rejected recent US accusations against Tehran regarding its alleged role in Yemen and the Red Sea, calling the claims “baseless, false, and contrary to reality.”
In an official letter addressed to the UN Security Council, Iravani stressed that the accusations leveled by the United States lacked any factual foundation and were politically motivated.
He affirmed that the Islamic Republic of Iran remains fully committed to its international obligations and all relevant Security Council resolutions. Iran, he noted, continues to support an “inclusive and peaceful political process led by Yemenis themselves,” reaffirming Tehran’s consistent stance on non-interference in sovereign affairs.
“It is deeply regrettable,” Iravani added, “that the United States exploits the Security Council platform to deflect attention from its own destabilizing actions, including its military intervention in Yemen and its support for Israeli aggression not only in Yemen but across the entire region.”
Accusations echo previous ones
The Iranian Foreign Ministry, back in May, affirmed that the repetition of baseless accusations regarding Tehran's role in the courageous Yemeni operations taken against the Israeli aggression is an insult to the Yemeni people.
The Ministry detailed that linking the Yemeni actions to Iran is a misleading claim aimed at covering up Israeli crimes and attempts to incite unrest in the region.
The statement vowed that Iran is determined to defend itself against any malicious move that threatens its national security, affirming its position in respecting the territorial integrity and sovereignty of states, and considered the US aggression against Yemen a flagrant violation.
The Ministry warned that US attacks have serious repercussions on the security of the region and the Red Sea, demanding an end to the genocide in Gaza.
