Iran's envoy to Beirut: Majdal Shams incident an Israeli 'staged play'
The ambassador reiterates that the Islamic Republic does not think an Israeli aggression on Lebanon is imminent.
The Iranian ambassador to Lebanon Mojtaba Amani considered the Israeli reaction to the incident at Majdal Shams in the occupied Syrian Golan Heights to be a "staged play orchestrated by the occupation regime."
In a post on X (Twitter), Amani said the Israeli threats to expand the war on Lebanon and the region by stating that "the three 'No's' summarize" the Iranian stance on them.

"[No], "we do not expect [an Israeli war] to be launched [on Lebanon], and we consider the chances very slim due to the imposed power equations." No, "we do not want [a war], as the Islamic Republic of Iran always seeks to reduce tensions in the region." No, "we are not afraid of it, in every sense of the word."
He added that "our enemies can imagine what we can do with the power, capability, and defense of the Resistance that we have."
An explosive projectile of unknown origin struck a football field in the occupied Syrian village of Majdal Shams, which is made up entirely of Druze Syrians. The strike killed at least 12 civilians, including children, and wounded at least a dozen others.
The Israeli occupation accused Hezbollah of being responsible for the attack.
However, the Islamic Resistance in Lebanon categorically denied the claims, stating that it had no connection whatsoever with the incident.

Reports indicate that the explosion may have been caused by an Iron Dome anti-air missile that deviated off its course and struck the area, as per Israeli media.
President Joe Biden's administration has expressed significant concern that the recent attack on the occupied Golan Heights, which the US alleges was "from Lebanon", could escalate into a full-scale war between the Israeli occupation and Hezbollah, according to a report by Axios.
The US allegations come despite the Islamic Resistance in Lebanon denying to the United Nations that it was involved in the attack, with Axios citing a US official as saying Hezbollah officials told the UN that the Golan Heights incident was the result of an Israeli interceptor missile hitting the football field.
