Iran's permanent mission to the UN Office in Geneva stresses that the US crackdown on the pro-Palestine protests at US universities will not silence the students.
Iran's permanent mission to the UN Office in Geneva has condemned the ongoing US crackdown on pro-Palestine protests across US universities, emphasizing that violence against peaceful protesters will not silence them.
"We strongly condemn the brutal and violent crackdown on widespread peaceful pro-Palestinian protests at universities in the United States. The US Police brutality and excessive use of force during peaceful assemblies, and targeting students advocating for an end to genocidal war in Gaza is a matter of serious concern," the mission said on X on April 26.

"Demonstrators are precisely calling for ending the US complicity in ongoing Genocide in Gaza in their name. Firing and beating peaceful protesters does not silence them, who are the frontline human rights defenders, it only reaffirms the urgency of the struggle for justice for Palestine," it added.
"Police attacks against university students and professors, the scale of arrests, and the conditions of detentions is deeply disturbing and we call for the release of all detained," the mission stressed.
Iran FM condemns crackdown on pro-Palestine protests in US colleges
Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian expressed deep concerns over the police crackdown on pro-Palestine demonstrations in US universities on April 25.
Universities across the United States - "Israel's" close ally and top provider of military assistance - have been rocked by demonstrations over "Israel's" relentless aggression on Gaza, triggering mass arrests and shutting down classes at some of the most prestigious US institutions.
"The suppression and violent treatment of the American police and security forces against professors and students protesting the genocide and war crimes of the Israeli regime in various universities of the United States is deeply worrying," Amir-Abdollahian posted on X.

He indicated that "this repression is in line with the continuation of Washington's full-fledged support for the Israeli regime and clearly shows the double standard policy and contradictory attitude of the American government towards freedom of expression."
