Iran's Foreign Ministry summoned the German ambassador to Tehran on Monday to protest Germany's repeated interference in Iranian internal affairs following an anti-Iran resolution that was passed in the UN Human Rights Council, which was proposed by Berlin earlier last week.

The head of the Western Europe Division of the ministry protested Berlin's ambassador Hans-Udo Muzel the “interventionist and baseless statements” against Iran, while also informing him that Tehran rejects the Council's resolution that is politicizing human rights issues, and using them as an instrumental, further stressing that Tehran won't accept nor cooperate with the UNHCR's resolution.

Earlier this month, the ministry also summoned the German Ambassador over unconstructive and "irresponsible" remarks made by German Chancellor Olaf Scholz.

The ministry then held Germany responsible for the effects of such remarks on the future of bilateral relations between Tehran and Berlin.

The Iranian diplomat considered that Germany, although portraying itself as an advocate of human rights, avoids its international responsibilities to respect countries' sovereignty and provides asylum to terrorist and separatist groups opposed to Iran.

Following a request by Germany and Iceland, the UN Human Rights Council held a meeting last Thursday to discuss alleged "human rights violations" in Iran as the country is fending off riots backed by foreign countries aimed to spread instability and insecurity in the Islamic Republic.

The council voted in favor of creating a special mission to "look into" the alleged violations.
