Iran's mission to the United Nations warned on Friday that any misguided move by "Israel" aimed at attacking Lebanon could trigger a new regional conflict, inevitably leading to the devastating destruction of Lebanon's vital infrastructure.

The statement affirmed that the Lebanese Resistance possesses the capacity to protect both itself and Lebanon.
"[P]erhaps the time for the self-annihilation of this illegitimate regime has come," the statement said.
