Tehran will not abandon uranium enrichment, underlined the Leader of the Islamic Revolution and the Islamic Republic of Iran, Sayyed Ali Khamenei.
Speaking on Wednesday on the 36th anniversary of the passing of Imam Khomeini, Sayyed Khamenei said that the American proposal concerning Iran’s nuclear file is “100% opposed” to the principle of “We can,” a phrase he said the late Imam Khomeini planted in the Iranian people and which the enemies now seek to obliterate from their vocabulary.
Iran’s nuclear policy is for Iranians to decide
He pointed out that "the enemy is focusing on the issue of uranium enrichment, as nuclear industries without enrichment are useless."
The Iranian leader stressed that "enrichment is an essential part of the Islamic Republic’s nuclear program.”
"We asked the American side, 'What do you have to do with the Iranian nuclear issue?' The Iranian people are the side that decides," he said.
Sayyed Khamenei recalled that Iran "stood up to sedition and plots, foiled them, and was patient until the end. After that, it responded to these attacks."
"The Islamic Republic has increased its strength domestically and regionally and has demonstrated its capabilities and potential at various levels," he highlighted.
"We will increase the strength of the Islamic Republic in all fields," the leader vowed.
He underscored that true independence means the Iranian people relying on themselves and making decisions independently, without waiting for a green light from the United States.
Sayyed Khamenei clarified that Iran’s independence does not mean cutting off relations with other countries, but rather that the country’s decisions are made independently, without seeking approval from Washington or similar powers.

Scientific progress amid suffocating sanctions
He also pointed out that “the Islamic Republic has surpassed many global powers in several fields and is launching satellites despite the suffocating sanctions,” adding that no administration over the past two centuries has faced the volume of sedition and hostility that Iran has endured since the victory of the Islamic Revolution.
Sayyed Khamenei asserted that Iran, thanks to its scientists, youth, and energies, has been able to achieve a full nuclear energy cycle.
He confirmed that the country can now produce nuclear energy, noting that only a few countries possess this capability.
'Israel' cannot guarantee security for any state in region
Regarding the ongoing Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip, Sayyed Khamenei underscored that the US is complicit in the bloodshed in the Palestinian enclave, adding, “We have said it before, and we repeat and insist: it [the US] must leave this region."
The Iranian leader stressed that “Islamic countries bear a huge responsibility for what is happening in Gaza, and today there is no room for lip service, neutrality, or silence.”
"Normalization with the Zionist entity is a disgrace that shall forever accompany countries that seek it," he indicated, adding that "Israel" will not be able to provide security for any country in the region.
