Iran: Medium-range cruise missiles fired in Grand Prophet 17 exercise
The fourth day of the joint maneuver of Grand Prophet 17 included firing medium-range cruise missiles and air operations of IRGC naval drones.
The fourth day of the Grand Prophet 17 exercise marked the first launch of precision-strike, intermediate-range cruise missiles from a warship. Air operations of IRGC naval drones were also carried out.
Marine cruise missiles were fired successfully from floating and coastal platforms, simultaneously hitting specific targets at sea in the presence of IRGC Navy Commander Rear Admiral Alireza Tangsiri and a group of high-ranking commanders.
Footage showed that missiles with a range of about 180 kilometers hit their targets accurately.

Fars news agency reported that naval cruise missiles were launched from platforms on ships and others on the coast to hit their specific target at sea at the same time.
The Agency indicated that a drone managed to hit two targets simultaneously, in addition to carrying out surveillance and monitoring operations of enemy positions and conducting an air survey.
On the sidelines of the maneuvers, IRGC Naval Force Commander Brigadier General Alireza Tangsiri said the weapons used in the exercise are Iranian-made and are radar undetectable.
Rear Admiral Tangsiri added that cruise missiles are resistant to electronic warfare, are capable of identifying targets in difficult conditions, have high precision, and can be armed with warheads within a short period of time. They also carry modern, special radars.
The top Iranian Commander said Tuesday the Gulf is "our home” and a place of peace and stability, and whoever puts our region and interests at risk would receive a decisive response.
Iran's Islamic Revolution's Guard Corps (IRGC) announced Tuesday that during the Great Prophet 17 drills, fixed and mobile land and sea targets were hit accurately by attack drones and missiles.
