Iranian FM meets PIJ and Hamas leaders during Lebanon visit
Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian arrives in Lebanon and meets with leaders of Palestinian Resistance factions following a trip to Syria.
Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, after a closed meeting in Beirut with the leaders of the Hamas and the Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) movement, confirmed Tehran’s adherence to the strategy of supporting the Palestinian people, their Resistance, and the cause of liberating Palestine.
Amir-Abdollahian reminded the PIJ and Hamas leaders of the announcement of the Leader Ali Khamenei -- the necessity of supporting the West Bank -- assuring them that "the Islamic Republic [of Iran] will not back down from its support for Palestine and will continue to support the Resistance strongly."
In turn, the Palestinian leaders, in their meeting with Amir-Abdollahian, reaffirmed their commitment to Resistance as a "strategic option for the Palestinian people," stressing "not to back down from Resistance operations in the West Bank as a priority at this stage."
Al-Miqdad and Amir-Abdollahian: US troops are advised to leave Syria
Earlier on Wednesday, Amir-Abdollahian arrived in Damascus and participated in a joint press conference with Syrian Foreign Minister Faisal al-Miqdad after their meeting.
Iran's Foreign Minister condemned the "brutal attacks by the Israeli occupation on Aleppo airport and other civilian areas in Syria." He stressed that acts of aggression and crimes by the occupation have not gone unanswered in the region and that they will continue to be addressed in the future.

He added, "We have agreed that the Iran-Syria Joint High Commission will convene in Tehran soon, chaired by Iran's First Vice President and Syria's Prime Minister. We are particularly focused on enhancing trade relations and economic cooperation, especially among businessmen and traders from both countries."
Amir-Abdollahian expressed his satisfaction with the resumption of pilgrimage and tourism trips for Iranians to Syria. He also discussed the activities of terrorist groups and the US efforts to organize these groups while maintaining their occupying presence in Syria under the pretext of fighting ISIS.
