Iranian Official: Tehran Will Continue to Aid Lebanon
A senior Iranian official says that a return to the Vienna talks may happen "within days or weeks", despite Iran's doubts of "Biden's will to return to the nuclear agreement."
A senior Iranian official stated from New York, on Friday, that his country will continue to supply Lebanon with fuel as long as the Lebanese need it, indicating that his country is fully prepared to build two stations that would cover Lebanon's much-needed electricity supply.
Iranian fuel ships to Lebanon
It is noteworthy that Hezbollah's media relations announced today the arrival of the second ship loaded with diesel from Iran to the Syrian port of Baniyas, the load of which will be transferred to Lebanon by tankers within days.
So far, 5 convoys of diesel tankers have arrived in Lebanon through Syria.
JCPOA Vienna negotiations
In addition, the senior Iranian official confirmed that a return to the Vienna negotiations in order to revive the Iranian nuclear agreement might take place within days or weeks.
The Iranian official said that there are doubts over Biden's desire to return to the nuclear agreement due to the absence of realistic indications that support the statements. He added that Iran is waiting for the Biden administration to take steps in terms of lifting sanctions and releasing Iranian funds.
In parallel, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein AmirAbdollahian revealed today that Iran will soon return to the negotiations on resuming the 2015 nuclear agreement.
The US to revive the nuclear deal
On Thursday, a senior US official revealed that there is still an opportunity to revive the Iranian nuclear agreement, but accused Tehran of not setting a date for the resumption of talks.
The same Iranian official pointed out that the talks with the regional countries, particularly Saudi Arabia, are steadily moving forward.
On Thursday, Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Saeed Khatibzadeh announced that, in the past few months, progress was made in talks with Saudi Arabia.
