Iraqi High Electoral Commission Announces Elections on October 10
Iraq's Independent High Electoral Commission (IHEC) announces it is ready to conduct elections on October 10.
The Chairman of the Board of Commissioners for Iraq's Independent High Electoral Commission, Judge Jalil Adnan, said in an interview for Al-Iraqiyah that all legal procedures have been accomplished, noting that the elections' final results will be announced after all appeals have been resolved and that the electoral ballots were specially designed to be unforgeable.
Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi also said last week that the upcoming elections scheduled for the 10th of October cannot be postponed.

The Cell added in a statement that a senior "ISIS" leader was captured, along with weapons and equipment. The Popular Mobilization Forces Units also announced the launch of an operation to pursue "ISIS" remnants in Amirli in Salah al-Din governorate.
On his part, the head of the Iraqi National Security Apparatus Abdul Ghani al-Asadi stressed the need for international efforts in the course of combatting extremism, emphasizing the significance of working in accordance with the principle of intellectual moderation and peaceful coexistence among countries and people in the region, as well as the need to unify efforts to combat all forms of extremism.
