Israeli occupation forces continue their assault on the town of Bruqin, north of the occupied West Bank, for the fourth consecutive day, imposing a comprehensive curfew and converting several civilian homes into closed military outposts.
According to Bruqin Mayor Fayed Sabra, occupation forces stormed the municipality headquarters, ransacking its contents and destroying essential equipment, including computers and office furniture.
IOF vandalize municipal property
Mayor Sabra reported that Israeli soldiers held entire families hostage in their homes after seizing control, prohibiting them from leaving. Residents also reported hearing intermittent gunfire across various neighborhoods in the town.
Sabra added that occupation soldiers were conducting field interrogations with young residents of Bruqin, which has a population of approximately 5,000.
Smotrich calls for destruction of Palestinian towns
In an inflammatory statement, Israeli far-right Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich called for the destruction of Bruqin and the neighboring town of Kafr ad-Dik, mirroring the genocidal campaign against the Shujaiya and Tal al-Sultan neighborhoods in the Gaza Strip.
The Israeli military and Shin Bet claimed they had assassinated a Palestinian man who had carried out an operation in Bruqin two days earlier.
Widening crackdown across West Bank
The aggression was not limited to Bruqin. Across the occupied West Bank, occupation forces launched a series of raids and arrests targeting several cities and towns.
On Saturday, two citizens from Kafr ad-Dik, west of Salfit, were arrested after occupation troops stormed and searched their homes.
In Nablus, the village of Madama was raided by occupation forces, who also deployed sound bombs and attacked residents.
At dawn, occupation soldiers stormed al-Ain refugee camp, deploying in large numbers throughout its alleys, searching several homes. In a separate raid, troops also stormed the Balata refugee camp via the Beit Furik checkpoint. No arrests were reported in either camp.
Shooting and arrest in occupied al-Quds
In occupied al-Quds, the Israeli occupation forces arrested a Palestinian man after opening fire on his vehicle near the Jaba' checkpoint, northeast of the city.
Eyewitnesses reported that the patrol chased the civilian vehicle and opened fire before detaining the driver. The checkpoint was then completely sealed off, barring all civilian movement.
