The Islamic Resistance Movement - Hamas issued a statement on Wednesday condemning "the criminal Israeli aggression on Syrian territory, as well as the occupation's ground incursion into the countryside of Daraa and Quneitra."
Hamas considered this aggression a "blatant assault on Syrian sovereignty and a continuation of the policy of arrogance pursued by the occupation entity against Arab countries."
Palestinian Mujahideen Movement
The Palestinian Mujahideen Movement, in turn, strongly condemned the Israeli aggression on Syria, highlighting the ongoing bombing of southern Damascus and the occupation of other areas. They described it as a "blatant violation of Syrian sovereignty and a threat to the unity of Syrian territory."
The movement considered that "this ongoing treacherous aggression is an extension of the open Zionist-American war against our nation, targeting its capabilities and existence."
The movement emphasized that this latest Israeli aggression, "which targets the lands and resources of the Syrian people, confirms that the Zionist entity poses an imminent threat to the entire nation and its components," urging a response to its continuous aggression against the Arab world.
The Mujahideen Movement also urged the Ummah to "close ranks and unite against its primary enemy, the Zionist Israeli entity and its allies," while calling on Arab and Islamic countries to "take a decisive stand against the ongoing Israeli incursion and abuses."
Local Syrian sources reported on Wednesday that the Israeli forces blew up several military barracks belonging to the Syrian army when it entered the countryside of Daraa and Quneitra.
Israeli aircraft launch intense strikes on Syria
On Tuesday evening, Israeli occupation forces advanced into towns in Syria's Quneitra countryside and the Daraa governorate, Al Mayadeen's correspondent reported.
The overnight advance coincided with intense aerial aggression that targeted areas in Daraa, Suwayda, Quneitra, and Damascus' countryside.
Israeli drones were also spotted over the Quneitra province, our correspondent added.
Sources told Al Mayadeen that Israeli warplanes bombed the al-Kiswah area and flew over Damascus after. Our correspondent also reported that at least six loud explosions were heard in the Suweida countryside.
Israeli military vehicles advanced towards the village of al-Bakkar, in the western countryside of Daraa, southern Syria. They also infiltrated the village of Ain al-Bayda in the northern countryside of Quneitra.
Al Mayadeen's correspondent reported that "the Israeli incursion into southern Syria is the largest since the new authorities took office."
"The Israeli occupation aircraft bombed an old Syrian army camp in Izraa in the eastern countryside of Daraa, southern Syria," Al Mayadeen sources said.
Demonstrations against Israeli aggression
This morning, a demonstration was held in Umayyad Square in Damascus, condemning the Israeli aggression on southern Syria and rejecting efforts to partition the country.
Protesters called for the head of Syria's transitional phase, Ahmed al-Sharaa, to retaliate by bombing Tel Aviv in response to the Israeli strikes on southern Syria.
In parallel, Israeli media reported that Israeli aircraft targeted and destroyed military infrastructure and weapons caches used by the former Syrian regime. A Syrian Arab Army camp in the eastern countryside of Daraa, located in southern Syria, was also bombed.
In the same context, Israeli Security Minister Israel Katz said that the Israeli Air Force is striking hard in southern Syria, adding that the Israeli government "will not allow Southern Syria to turn into Southern Lebanon."
