Israeli aggression targets civilian building in Damascus countryside
The Israeli occupation forces carry out aggression targeting a civilian area in Syria's capital, leading to several casualties, including at least one killed.
Syrian state media agency SANA reported Sunday that an Israeli airstrike targeted a residential building in the Sayyidah Zeinab area in the Damascus countryside, resulting in multiple casualties.
It was reported that at least one person was killed, with several others injured, as a result of the aggression.
Earlier, Al Mayadeen's correspondent in Damascus reported hearing two explosions near the town of Sayyidah Zeinab and the nearby village of Aqraba in southern Damascus.
The attack follows another Israeli airstrike that struck the city of Shahba in the Suweida countryside on Saturday. Additionally, late Friday night, Israeli forces conducted airstrikes on Syria, targeting several military sites in the rural areas of Aleppo and Idlib.
A Syrian military source confirmed that the Israeli aggression resulted in the injury of several soldiers and some material losses.
In turn, Al Mayadeen's correspondent in Aleppo reported that the Israeli occupation forces carried out the airstrike from the Syrian Badia region, targeting areas that house Syrian military bases.
The Syrian Foreign Ministry condemned the Israeli occupation's repeated attacks, stating that the continuous targeting of civilian areas by the IOF was a result of a lack of serious international action to curb such aggression.
The ministry reiterated its call for the United Nations to take urgent measures to halt the assaults and hold the perpetrators accountable.
