A Lebanese citizen was killed in an Israeli airstrike on the southern Lebanese town of Yater, according to an announcement made on Wednesday by the Health Emergency Operations Center, a department of the Ministry of Public Health.
Israeli forces opened fire from the Ruweisat al-Alam position towards the outskirts of the town of Kfar Chouba, while Israeli artillery targeted the area of Jabal Sadana on the outskirts of the town of Shebaa. Additionally, an Israeli drone dropped a bomb on civilians who were attempting to move household furniture using a tractor in the town of Hula.
At dawn on Wednesday, Israeli forces advanced into the town of Aita al-Shaab and proceeded to detonate a farm belonging to a local citizen on the town's outskirts.
Also on Wednesday morning, the United Nations peacekeeping force in Lebanon, known as UNIFIL, announced that its forces had come under what it described as their most serious attack since the ceasefire agreement was reached on November 27th, 2024.
According to a detailed UNIFIL statement, one bomb landed approximately 20 meters away from UN personnel and vehicles, while three other bombs landed about 100 meters away, after which drones were seen returning south of the Blue Line.
This comes as "Israel" continues its flagrant violations of the ceasefire agreement in Lebanon, as it keeps conducting widespread airstrikes and drone strikes across the country.
A large wave of Israeli airstrikes hit southern Lebanon in the early hours of August 31, with the occupation forces escalating their aerial bombardment by targeting multiple sites across the Nabatieh Governorate, including the highlands of Ali al-Taher and al-Dabsha, in addition to the outskirts of Nabatieh al-Fawqa and Kfar Tibnit, as reported by Al Mayadeen’s correspondent.
The occupation forces also launched intensive barrages of fire into the mountainous region of Ali al-Taher, escalating the danger to civilians in the surrounding areas of Nabatieh al-Fawqa, as Israeli warplanes returned repeatedly to bomb the same targets in rapid succession.
