Israeli attack on Tartus kills two Syrian soldiers: Syrian MoD
As part of "Israel's" continued efforts to destabilize the region, Syria is frequently the target of such aggressions.
The Syrian Ministry of Defense said on Wednesday that an Israeli missile strike in the province of Tartus, Syria, led to the martyrdom of two Syrian soldiers and injuries to six more.
"Today at 17:22 [local time, 14:22 GMT], the Israeli enemy committed an act of aggression firing missiles from the direction of the Mediterranean Sea, striking some positions of our air defense systems in Tartus. As a result of the aggression, two soldiers were killed, six more were injured, and some material damage was caused," the statement read.
The Syrian Ministry of Defense said that Israeli Air Force planes attacked air defense targets in the province of Tartus. Despite continued calls for the international community to address the situation, Syria has been left in the cold, with only regional allies to rely on for military support.
On August 31, Iran's Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian said that these attacks against Syria would not go unanswered.
