Two Lebanese army soldiers were martyred and another wounded on Thursday after an Israeli drone armed with a bomb exploded in the town of Naqoura, southern Lebanon, according to Al Mayadeen's correspondent.
The incident occurred while the soldiers were inspecting the downed drone, which had fallen during an attempt to drop an explosive device on an excavator in the area.

The attack came as Israeli occupation forces intensified their aggression on Lebanese territory. Air raids struck the outskirts of the towns of al-Qutrani, al-Jarmaq, and al-Mahmoudiya, while in Kfar Kila, an Israeli drone dropped three bombs, one of which damaged a municipal vehicle. Meanwhile, Israeli forces stationed at the Rweisat al-Alam site opened fire toward the outskirts of Kfar Shouba, further escalating border tensions.
Another Israeli airstrike targeted the Jbour Heights in western Beqaa, expanding the scope of violations beyond Lebanon's south.
Violation of the ceasefire
These attacks represent a blatant breach of the ceasefire announced on November 27, 2024, which formally ended more than a year of confrontation along the Lebanon-occupied Palestine border. The truce stipulated Hezbollah's redeployment from border areas in exchange for the Lebanese army's deployment in the south and the dismantling of resistance infrastructure, while "Israel" was obligated to fully withdraw from Lebanese territory.
Yet, occupation troops continue to maintain positions inside Lebanon and have carried out near-daily strikes despite the agreement.

Calls for accountability
Amnesty International has condemned the extensive destruction inflicted by Israeli forces across Lebanon, including after the ceasefire took effect. The organization urged that incidents involving the deliberate or reckless destruction of civilian property be investigated as potential war crimes.
Amnesty noted that thousands of structures, including homes, mosques, cemeteries, and public infrastructure, were destroyed across 24 municipalities, citing verified videos, photographs, and satellite imagery. In several cases, soldiers were documented celebrating the devastation.
