The attack marks yet another act of aggression in "Israel’s" ongoing campaign of escalation against southern Lebanese towns and villages. The Lebanese Ministry of Health confirmed that on Friday, another Israeli strike targeted a vehicle in Zawtar al-Gharbiya, also in Nabatieh, killing one person and wounding another.
Earlier this week, two additional Lebanese civilians were martyred in an Israeli airstrike on a vehicle in the town of Toul, in the same district. These repeated assaults have sparked growing outrage across Lebanon, as residents accuse "Israel" of deliberately targeting civilians and infrastructure in defiance of international law and last year's ceasefire.
Observers also note that these attacks represent a flagrant violation of UN Security Council Resolution 1701 and the November 27, 2024, ceasefire agreement, which called for an end to hostilities along the Lebanese border. Despite the UN resolution, Israeli forces have continued to bombard areas in the South, the Bekaa Valley, and Beirut’s Southern Suburb, endangering civilian lives and undermining regional stability.
Lebanese officials and resistance groups have condemned the continued Israeli aggression, warning that Tel Aviv’s persistent violations threaten to drag the region into a wider confrontation.
