Israeli media blast 'unbelievable lies' in Netanyahu's presser speech
Israeli media and officials have responded to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's speech during his press conference in al-Quds, slamming the lies and contradictions in it.
Israeli media blasted Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's Monday press conference, saying his speech "lacked accuracy, was painful, and consisted of an unbelievable amount of lies and contradictions."
Channel 12's political commentator Yaron Abraham refuted Netanyahu's claims of nothing having entered through the border, with the exception of the Philadelphi Corridor, saying the Resistance's infiltration was "worse than that".
He also criticized Netanyahu's contradictory speech, saying he "says one thing and its opposite" regarding the international approval for the Israeli occupation of the Philadelphi Corridor, urging him to mind the time, "because it's running out, and we saw that last week."
Meanwhile, Nir Dvori, the military correspondent at Channel 12, said Netanyahu was highly inaccurate when talking about the Philadelphi Corridor, affirming that the axis itself was not the major issue. He added that eight months into the war, the Israeli occupation forces did not advance toward the Corridor.
However, when pushing the IOF towards an operation on the Philadelphi Axis, Netanyahu hesitated and disapproved of the ground operation, according to Dvori.
Dvori also refuted Netanyahu's claims of weapons being smuggled through the Philadelphi Axis and confirmed that they were smuggled through the Rafah crossing, adding that the weapons were mostly homegrown by Hamas in Gaza.
He further affirmed that "the path to destroying Hamas does not pass through the Philadelphi Corridor," dismissing Netanyahu's quests for solutions on the northern front. "How will Israel solve the issue in the north, when it has not finished the process in the south?" he asked.
On his part, Channel 13's political affairs correspondent, Raviv Drucker, described the press conference as "extremely painful. And in light of the circumstances, no hostage will be released through a deal." He further blasted the "unbelievable" amount of lies and contradictions in Netanyahu's speech.
Netanayhu vs. 'Israel'
The leader of the opposition, Yair Lapid, also responded to Netanyahu, saying "What we heard from Netanyahu is a baseless political ploy," adding that "what he said about Philadelphi lacks any connection to reality."
Lapid stressed that no one believes Netanyahu's trick, not "the security officials, not the international community, not the soldiers in Gaza."
Netanyahu insists on remaining in the Philadelphi Corridor.
In a televised press conference in occupied al-Quds, he stressed his “firm position on the Philadelphi Corridor, which will not change,” and considered that this corridor is “Hamas’ oxygen pipe, and it must be cut off,” noting that “the Israeli army’s withdrawal from the Philadelphi Corridor made Gaza a major threat to us, and was tantamount to opening the way for weapons and other materials to enter Hamas.”
He stressed that there was no previous international agreement allowing "Israel" to occupy the Philadelphi axis, stressing that the path to "success in the war" passes through it.
