Israeli Media Criticizes Bennett
Israeli media criticized Israeli PM Naftali Bennett for forgetting the name of the soldier shot by the Palestinian resistance in Gaza.
Israeli media attacked Prime Minister Naftali Bennett for forgetting the name of a soldier shot by the Palestinian resistance in Gaza two days ago.
According to Israeli Channel 13, Bennett did not know the name of the Border Police soldier who was wounded in the Gaza strip, nor the hospital where he was being treated. The channel detailed how Bennett spoke with the father of Staff Sergeant Barel Shmueli yesterday, and during the conversation referred to the soldier by the name of his father, Yossi.

Despite Bennett's "apology," Or Heller, the Israeli channel's military correspondent, said that "there are many things that Israeli politicians are allowed to do, but the confusion regarding the name of a wounded or dead fighter are mistakes that Israeli politicians are not allowed to make, especially as Barel's condition is still critical."
He went on to say that the soldier was placed on the "border fence" by Israeli occupation forces on Saturday and that the Israeli PM is expected to not only call his family and learn his name but visit him at the hospital and sit with his family.
Videos have surfaced on social media, depicting colleagues of the Israeli soldier in Soroka Hospital, performing Talmudic prayers for his recovery.

During the "Seif al-Quds" festival commemorating the 52nd anniversary of the burning of Al-Aqsa Mosque, Israeli occupation forces fired bullets and tear gas canisters at Palestinians near the Gaza separation fence on Saturday.
Meanwhile, demonstrators set rubber tires near the separation fence east of Malaka camp and climbed the fence, and raised Palestinian flags, throwing stones at the occupation forces.
During the fight, Palestinians attempted to steal an Israeli soldier's weapon, which had been extended through a small hole in the wall. A Palestinian resistance member attacked the soldier, shooting him from point-blank range.
