Israeli Media: The Army Failed Miserably in Gaza
Israeli experts acknowledge the occupation army's failure in the events surrounding the Gaza separation barrier.
Israeli media reported, on Sunday, that the Israeli occupation forces "failed miserably" in regards to the incident that occurred at the Gaza separation barrier.
Israeli Arab Affairs Expert Yoni Ben Menachem wondered tweeted: “how did Israeli army snipers allow a terrorist to approach the border fence, and how did he escape alive?", citing Saturday’s incident when a Palestinian man with a pistol shot an Israeli occupation soldier through a concrete barrier along the Gaza border.
"Army soldiers should be ordered to open fire with live ammunition at anyone who approaches the border fence," Ben Menachem added, calling on Israeli Security Minister Benny Gantz and Chief of Staff Aviv Kohavi to "wake up."
Furthermore, Or Heller, a veteran military correspondent on “Israel's” Channel 13 TV, stated, that "the people of Gaza have been living in an intolerable reality for 20 years." However, following the recent events, it appears that “the initiative is in the hands of Hamas and Sinwar, who can raise the flame level when he wants, and reduce it when he wants.”
The Israeli occupation army confirmed that one of its soldiers was critically wounded, on Saturday, after being shot in the Gaza Strip, adding that the soldier was sent to the hospital for treatment.
Moreover, Israeli warplanes launched airstrikes on Central Gaza hours after confrontations erupted near the separation barrier.
