Israeli media question 'success' of Israeli aggressions against Gaza
Israeli media cite officials in Netanyahu's security and military establishment as saying that efforts must be made to end the aggression against the Gaza Strip.
Amid the continuous Israeli occupation aggression against Gaza for the fourth day in a row, Israeli media raised a discussion regarding the feasibility of the aggression, dubbed "Operation Shield and Arrow," and its ability to achieve results on the ground. This comes in light of the widespread talk about the absence of a clear Israeli strategy to implement against the Strip.
Analysts suggested that "Israel" entrapped itself in this round of confrontation and that Israeli occupation Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu entered it for purely political and personal reasons, while others indicated that "Israel" is facing "more of the same."
The analysts indicated that "Israel's" "Operation Shield and Arrow" is no different from other aggressions.
Israeli media cited officials in Netanyahu's security and military establishment as saying that efforts must be made to end the aggression against the Gaza Strip.
The political affairs correspondent for the Israeli Channel 13, Moriah Wahlberg, revealed on Twitter that the commanders of the Israeli occupation security and military establishment, the chiefs of staff, and the Shin Bet, said in a Wednesday discussion with Netanyahu, that "it is right to seek to end the operation."
Wahlberg cited a source who attended the discussion as saying that the head of the Shin Bet, Ronen Bar, took a more decisive position on this matter.
On his part, political affairs correspondent of the Israeli Walla website, Barak Ravid, cited a source familiar with the details of the discussion as saying that Bar recommended assessing the situation, seeking to end the aggression.
In the same context, Haaretz published an article by Amos Harel that questioned the "success" of the Israeli occupation's operations against Gaza.
Harel highlighted that since 2005, "Israel has carried out no fewer than 15 military operations in the Gaza Strip."
"What have all these campaigns, from First Rain to Guardian of the Walls, achieved? Not much, even if it’s very possible that in some of these cases Israel had no choice other than a military operation," he considered.
The writer said that "it was clear from the start that there was little prospect that the latest offensive, Operation Shield and Arrow, would achieve radically different results."
"If the operations were really all that successful, we wouldn’t need them once a year on average, with the time between them becoming shorter in the past few years," Harel noted.
