Israeli Media: Bahraini-Israeli Cooperation in Counter-Drone Strategy
Bahraini-Israeli talks are underway to maintain the "safe navigation" of Bahraini ships in the Gulf, according to Israeli media.
Israeli media reported that the Israeli occupation and Bahrain are discussing cooperation in the face of Iranian drone attacks, as well as means of “safe navigation” for Bahraini ships in the Gulf.
In this context, Haaretz newspaper quoted "informed" sources as saying that Israeli Foreign Minister Yair Lapid's visit to the US destroyer in Bahrain is a "clear indication to Tehran."
On Thursday, Lapid visited Bahrain, in the first official visit by an Israeli Minister to the country after last year’s US-brokered normalization agreement with “Israel”.
On the same day, a Gulf Air plane took off on the first flight between the two countries.
Bahraini demonstrators burned tires outside the capital, Manama, and angry popular demonstrations denouncing normalization erupted, coinciding with Lapid's arrival in the capital.
Moreover, Bahrainis launched angry campaigns against the visit, with hashtags such as #Bahrain_rejects_Zionists and #Bahrainis_against_normalization going viral on social media.
