The Israeli occupation carried out multiple aggressions across the Gaza Strip during the early hours of Sunday, targeting residential areas in the north, center, and south of the besieged enclave.
According to Al Mayadeen’s correspondent, the occupation’s forces demolished residential buildings in the vicinity of the Zayed roundabout, east of Beit Lahia in northern Gaza, in a renewed escalation despite the ceasefire.
In central Gaza, areas east of Al-Bureij refugee camp came under heavy artillery fire, causing further damage and fear among civilians who have remained in their homes since the beginning of the truce.
Meanwhile, in the south, the city of Khan Younis was subjected to artillery bombardment and gunfire from Israeli armored vehicles. The Israeli occupation also carried out airstrikes and demolition operations in the city of Rafah, extending the scope of violations.
These actions come despite the ceasefire agreement, which came into effect on October 11. The Israeli occupation has continued to breach the truce on a near-daily basis.
According to the latest statistics released by the Ministry of Health in Gaza, 318 Palestinians have been martyred and 788 others have been wounded since the ceasefire took effect.
20 people killed within few hours
An aerial Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip on Saturday resulted in the martyrdom of at least 20 people, including children, Al Mayadeen's correspondent reported.
The attacks targeted multiple locations across the coastal enclave. In western Gaza City, five people were killed when a vehicle was struck near the al-Abbas intersection, while in the al-Nasr neighborhood, an airstrike on a residential apartment claimed four more lives and left several others wounded.
Further south, Israeli bombardment hit a house west of Deir al-Balah, killing three people. Meanwhile, in the Nuseirat refugee camp, one airstrike targeted the Abou Ammouneh family home, killing three people, while an airstrike on the home of the Abou Shawish family claimed the lives of seven people.
In a separate incident, the Al-Awda Hospital in Nuseirat reported receiving one body and seven injuries following an airstrike on a house in the immediate vicinity of the medical facility.
Escalation greenlit by US
In this context, Axios reported, citing a US official, that the Israeli airstrikes on Gaza on Saturday were conducted with the approval of the Trump administration.
Meanwhile, the Gaza Health Ministry has issued a preliminary casualty count from this evening's escalation, reporting at least 20 fatalities and more than 83 injuries, some critical.
Commenting on today's escalation, the Islamic Resistance Movement, Hamas, announced its rejection of all attempts by the Israeli government and its PM Benjamin Netanyahu to impose a fait accompli in Gaza that contradicts the agreed-upon terms.
Hamas called on mediators to intervene urgently and exert pressure to halt all Israeli violations immediately.
