An elderly woman, a child, and a young man were wounded on Saturday after settlers attacked residents in the town of Halhul, north of al-Khalil in the West Bank.
Meanwhile, settlers set fire to multiple vehicles and caravans during an assault on the village of Al-Mughayyir, northeast of Ramallah, with local sources telling the Palestinian WAFA news agency that the attackers raided the town, burned cars and mobile homes, and targeted residents' houses.
The settlers then pushed into the Marj Sa’a plain, situated between Al-Mughayyir and Abu Falah, prompting residents to confront them, after the same sources pointed out that settlers had already invaded the area the previous day and destroyed several olive trees.
Also on Saturday, settlers invaded the Khallat Um al-Hasan area east of Kisan village near Beit Lahm, where they threatened a local resident with eviction from his home within 24 hours.
In the northern Jordan Valley, settlers raided a Palestinian resident’s tents in the Al-Farsiya area, just days after attacking his children and leaving one of them injured.
'Israel' continues to violate the West Bank
The Israeli occupation continues to escalate its attacks across the West Bank, as settlers also persist in their assaults on various areas, against the backdrop of the ongoing war on the Gaza Strip that began on October 7, 2023.
On August 15, settlers attacked the town of Atara, northwest of Ramallah, setting four vehicles ablaze and throwing Molotov cocktails at a home in the eastern sector, resulting in property damage. Racist graffiti was also spray-painted on walls during the assault, as reported by the Palestinian news agency WAFA. Firefighters responded to contain the fires, while Israeli forces arrived on the scene to secure the area and provide protection for the settlers.
The attack follows renewed efforts by Israeli settlers to establish an illegal outpost, as they pitched tents on the slopes of Khirbet Tarafin Mountain near Atara’s entrance, in an attempt to seize roughly 2,000 dunams of land, a recognized archaeological site, even though Israeli forces have demolished these structures four times previously.
Three Palestinians sustained live-fire injuries in al-Mazra’a al-Sharqiya, east of Ramallah, when settlers attacked the al-Burj area, as part of weeks of escalating violence tied to attempts to seize Palestinian land for illegal settlement expansion.
