Several Palestinians were injured on Monday evening when Israeli settlers launched an attack on the towns of Halhul and Surif in al-Khalil, located in the southern West Bank.
Palestinian media reported that a group of settlers, under the protection of Israeli occupation forces, attacked Palestinians in Halhul and Surif, brutally assaulting them. The reports added that the settlers destroyed grape crops in the Hawawer area of Halhul, stole others, and set fire to the surroundings of a house in the Hur neighborhood near Ein al-Hamam, north of Surif.
Additionally, reports confirmed that a large force of the Israeli occupation army stormed the al-Fawwar refugee camp south of al-Khalil, while clashes broke out between Palestinian youths and occupation forces in the town of Beita, south of Nablus in the northern West Bank.
Settlers, IOF, continue to assault the West Bank
The Israeli occupation continues to escalate its attacks across the West Bank, as settlers persist in their assaults on various areas, against the backdrop of the ongoing war on Gaza that began on October 7, 2023, killing Palestinians and attacking their livelihoods on a near-daily basis.
Palestinian youth Abdullah Atiyat, who was shot by Israeli occupation forces during their raid in the city of Areeha in the eastern West Bank, succumbed to his wounds on the morning of August 10.
During the raid on several neighborhoods in the city, Israeli forces fired live ammunition, striking the young man in the upper body, and he was rushed to the hospital, but later succumbed to his wounds.
In the early hours of August 8, Israeli occupation forces detained a Palestinian youth from Jabal Abu Thahir in Jenin in the occupied West Bank, after surrounding his family home, forcing the occupants to evacuate, and firing stun grenades during the operation, according to local sources.
Earlier on August 5, large Israeli occupation forces conducted a wide-scale raid in eastern Nablus in the northern West Bank to secure the entry of settler groups to Joseph’s Tomb under heavy military protection.
