In the early hours of Friday, Israeli occupation forces detained a Palestinian youth from Jabal Abu Thahir in the city of Jenin in the occupied West Bank.
According to local sources, the forces surrounded the family home, forced its occupants to evacuate, and fired stun grenades during the operation.
Elsewhere, Israeli forces also detained another young Palestinian man from Balata refugee camp, east of Nablus, after storming and searching his home.
Simultaneously, settler bulldozers began leveling lands in the village of Salem, also east of Nablus, during the early hours of Friday morning.
On Thursday night, Israeli occupation forces stormed the city of Qalqilya from its southern entrance, deploying troops in several areas, including the Khalafa Mosque, the Turkish School, and the Kafr Saba neighborhood.
Occupation forces reportedly fired stun grenades at Palestinian youth near Khalafa Mosque. No injuries or arrests were reported at that location. However, they raided a home, interrogated its residents, and detained another Palestinian youth.
Israeli settlers raid Joseph's Tomb
Earlier on August 5, large forces of the Israeli occupation army carried out a wide-scale raid on the eastern part of Nablus, in the northern West Bank. The raid was launched to secure the entry of settler groups to Joseph's Tomb under strict military protection.
Dozens of military vehicles stormed the area from multiple directions, including the Hawara, Awarta, and Beit Furik checkpoints. Occupation forces fired tear gas and sound grenades heavily to disperse residents and clear the path for the settlers performing Talmudic rituals inside the shrine.
Violent confrontations broke out between Palestinian youths and occupation forces near Joseph’s Tomb during the incursion. The confrontations were met with intensified use of tear gas and rubber-coated bullets.
The Palestinian Red Crescent reported several injuries, including cases of suffocation from toxic gas, burns, and falls from high-altitude areas. Among the injured was a 60-year-old man. All those injured were transported to hospitals for treatment.
