J.D. Vance urges 'Israel' to end Gaza war 'as quick as possible'
In his initial comments as Trump's vice presidential pick, Ohio Senator J.D. Vance criticizes US President Joe Biden for "making it harder and harder for Israel to win that war."
J.D. Vance, the newly announced Republican vice presidential nominee, aligned with Donald Trump's original stance on the ongoing Israeli war on Gaza, emphasizing the need for "Israel" to swiftly end the war rather than take an extended period.
During an interview for Fox News on Monday, Vance outlined two key actions: first, ending the war as swiftly as possible to prevent worsening "Israel’s" situation, and second, resuming normalization talks between "Israel" and Saudi Arabia. He also stressed that former US President Donald Trump was "Israel’s" strongest ally.
Elsewhere in his remarks, Ohio Senator J.D. Vance criticized US President Joe Biden for "making it harder and harder for Israel to win that war."
Vance, a former Marine and Yale Law School graduate, rose to prominence in 2016 with the release of his memoir "Hillbilly Elegy", which aimed to explain why working-class white people might be drawn to the campaign of a New York real estate magnate like Trump.
Several contenders were seeking the Republican nomination in Ohio, with the battle mostly centered on how close the party should remain to Trump, who continues to claim victory in the 2020 presidential election.
Trump names JD Vance as running mate for 2024 presidential race
Trump announced via the social media platform Truth Social on Monday that he has chosen Republican US Senator JD Vance as his running mate for the 2024 presidential race.
"After lengthy deliberation and thought, and considering the tremendous talents of many others, I have decided that the person best suited to assume the position of Vice President of the United States is Senator J.D. Vance of the Great State of Ohio," Trump said.
Trump said that Vance's campaign efforts will concentrate on workers and farmers in states such as Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin, Ohio, and Minnesota.
The announcement comes during the Republican National Convention, where delegates from 56 states are expected to confirm Trump and Vance as the party’s 2024 ticket.
