Jordan confirms hosting Arab ministerial summit with Blinken tomorrow
Jordan has announced that the official goal of the meeting is to “stop the Israeli war on Gaza and the humanitarian disaster that it is causing.”
The office of Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi has announced that it will be convening a conference for Arab foreign ministers tomorrow in Amman with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken on the war on Gaza.
In addition to the Secretary-General of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization, Hussein al-Sheikh, the foreign ministers of the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Egypt will also be attending the summit.
Jordan has announced that the official goal of the meeting is to “stop the Israeli war on Gaza and the humanitarian disaster that it is causing.”
According to a Jordanian statement, the Arab ministers will first convene alone before meeting with Blinken. During their discussion, they will reaffirm their demands for an early ceasefire and the prompt delivery of supplies to the Gaza Strip.
According to Jordan's Foreign Ministry, the ministers would also address the repercussions of the war and ways to end the "dangerous deterioration that threatens the security of the entire region."
France is also planning an international humanitarian meeting for the civilian population in Gaza on November 9, according to three diplomatic sources.
This could be due to the massive popular outcry against Israeli war crimes against Palestinians in Gaza, particularly in France, which has seen massive protests in support of Palestine.
Recently, Macron claimed that France has no double standards and that it carries "universal values of humanism."
He has mentioned that the fight should be "without mercy but not without rules," without explicitly accusing the Israelis of aggression against Palestinians.
Lavrov: Russia will support 'Arab solution' of Arab States on Gaza
After talks with Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Sheikh Salem Abdullah Al Jaber Al Sabah in Moscow, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov confirmed Russia's interest on Friday in supporting the joint stance of Arab states regarding the current massacres in Gaza.
Lavrov stated that initiatives put forward have been discussed and are due to be implemented in the coming days, following the holding of the Arab League summit and the Arab-African summit on Gaza.
During a press conference, the top diplomat relayed, "In this case, it will be fundamentally important for us to find out the opinion, the common opinion — I am sure it will be the common opinion — of the Arab world," adding that Russia "will support the 'Arab solution' on this complex issue."
Lavrov's Kuwaiti counterpart affirmed that his country will not stop sending humanitarian aid to Gaza after it sent a jet with the 11th batch of aid through Egypt's El Arish International Airport, from where it is due to be sent to the Gaza Strip.
