In the early hours of Tuesday, Israeli occupation forces bombed the burn unit of Nasser Medical Hospital in Khan Younis, southern Gaza, killing several Palestinians, including renowned journalist Hassan Eslaih, whose powerful and unflinching photography has brought global attention to the harrowing massacres committed since the onset of the Israeli genocide.
Eslaih had been undergoing treatment for injuries sustained in a prior Israeli airstrike that targeted a tent housing multiple journalists, making his assassination a stark symbol of the ongoing targeting of media professionals in the Strip.

Eslaih’s killing adds to the growing toll of journalists killed in Gaza, underlining the high risks facing media workers amid the ongoing Israeli genocide.
Simultaneously, the Government Media Office in Gaza announced that the number of journalists killed since the beginning of the genocide has now reached 215. The assassination of Eslaih, it stated, reflects a deliberate policy of targeting Palestinian media professionals.
In its statement, the office called on the International Federation of Journalists, the Federation of Arab Journalists, and global media organizations to condemn the escalating violations against journalists operating in Gaza.
It held "Israel", the United States, and their allies, including the UK, Germany, and France, fully responsible for what it described as a brutal crime and part of an ongoing genocide.
Hamas: Killing journalists won’t silence Palestinian truth
Hamas condemned Eslaih's killing, denouncing the airstrike that claimed his life as a “cowardly operation” and a new chapter in the occupation’s long record of atrocities against the Palestinian people.
In an official statement, the movement stressed that targeting journalists would neither silence the voice of truth nor deter the "warriors of word and image" who remain steadfast in conveying the just cause of the Palestinian people to the world.
Hamas further urged the international community to act immediately to stop Israeli attacks on journalists and impose sanctions against what it described as a criminal entity and its murderous leadership.

Palestinian factions and official bodies mourned his death, describing the targeting as another chapter in "Israel’s" systematic targeting of journalists, and branding it a crime against humanity.
Ongoing assaults across Southern Gaza
At least 42 Palestinians have been killed in the past 24 hours, in what remains a preliminary toll, as "Israel's" ongoing aggression on the Gaza Strip continues.
Al Mayadeen’s correspondent reported that residents of Gaza endured harrowing and bloody hours amid relentless attacks, with several areas bombed simultaneously.
Elsewhere in Khan Younis, Palestinian police officer Brigadier General Hamdoun Al-Qudra was killed in an Israeli strike early Tuesday.
In Gaza City, an Israeli Apache helicopter opened fire on eastern districts, coinciding with heavy gunfire from military vehicles and drones.
Meanwhile, Israeli warplanes carried out several airstrikes on the town of Abasan al-Kabira, east of Khan Younis, as part of the intensified attacks on southern Gaza.
