In the aftermath of Wednesday's devastating attack in the southern city of Kerman, Iranian Interior Minister Ahmad Vahidi confirmed the loss of 84 lives and emphasized that the city's security was under control, Tasnim News Agency reported.

Minister Vahidi expressed confidence in the nation's security apparatuses to swiftly apprehend the perpetrators responsible for the tragic incident.

During his visit to the victims of the terrorist attack, Minister Vahidi commended the rapid and commendable efforts of hospital medical staff in treating a significant number of wounded individuals: noting that 111 surgical procedures were performed on the injured since the terrorist attack.

Out of the 284 wounded, a substantial number has been discharged. Many are reported to be in stable condition or require minor surgeries, and Vahidi expressed gratitude that most discharged patients did not face further complications.

The Interior Minister noted that medical personnel have been effectively mobilized to treat the wounded, emphasizing the cooperation between health authorities for a successful treatment process.

"Security, intelligence, and law enforcement agencies are fully aware and in control, executing their plans according to established protocols," Vahidi added.

Commenting on the terrorist attack itself in Kerman's Martyrs Cemetery area, Vahidi reported two strong explosions involving high-explosive materials targeting civilians, condemning the act as "reprehensible, cowardly, and malicious," Vahidi reported the recorded injuries caused by shrapnel and debris.

Vahidi emphasized that the incident demonstrated the depth of the enemies' malevolence, and concluded by assuring the public that the perpetrators of Wednesday's terrorist attack would surely be apprehended by intelligence and security forces.

Minister Vahidi added that the terrorists, along with their supporters, will face the wrath of the Iranian nation.
