Khamenei: No need for foreign intervention to govern region
Iranian leader Sayyed Ali Khamenei and the Emir of Qatar agree that dialogue is the only key to solving the issues of the region and call for activating economic ties.
Iran expects the Arab world to take direct political actions against Israeli crimes against Palestinians, expressed Iranian leader Sayyed Ali Khamenei during a meeting with the Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani in Tehran.
Khamenei described the decades-long Israeli aggression against Palestinians as a bitter fact and a strike at the Arab and Islamic world, criticizing some Arab countries' approach toward the Israeli occupation.
During the meeting, the Iranian leader considered that there is no need for foreign intervention to govern the region, warning that Zionists tend to create corruption wherever they may be.
In regard to the war in Syria and Yemen, Khamenei pointed out that the crises in the two countries can be resolved through dialogue but not through a weak position.
He also considered that the strength and stability of the Iran-Qatar relations are in the interest of both countries, calling for the expansion of the economic ties between Tehran and Doha.
Dialogue; only key to solving issues of the region
On his part, the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, expressed his satisfaction with his second visit to Tehran, hailing Khamenei's prominent status in the Islamic world.
Al Thani condemned the Israeli crimes against Palestinians, affirming that all sides must stand against such aggressions in Palestine.
The Emir of Qatar also considered that dialogue is the only key to solving the issues of the region, including Syria, Iraq, and Yemen.
Regarding the Tehran-Doha economic relations, Al Thani indicated that "the Iran-Qatar joint economic committee has been activated and we hope that economic cooperation between countries will significantly improve in the coming year."
Earlier, Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi met with Al Thani, where the two spoke fervently of reinvigorating their diplomatic relations during the visit.
It is noteworthy that the Emir of Qatar arrived in Iran today, Thursday. According to Reuters, Al Thani intends to take a tour that includes Germany and Britain as well to discuss efforts to revive the nuclear agreement.
