Kim Yo Jong slams UNSC for undermining DPRK's right to self defense
Kim warned that "very unlucky things will wait for the US" as Pyongyang intends to work on manufacturing and testing "the most overwhelming" nuclear deterrent.
Kim Yo Jong, Deputy Department Director of the Worker's Party of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, condemned a session of the UN Security Council (UNSC) that discussed Pyongyang's missile launch on July 12 of the UN Security Council (UNSC) dedicated to Pyongyang's July 12 missile launch.
"I express strong displeasure over and scathingly condemn the unfair and prejudiced behavior of the UNSC, which again called into question the DPRK's exercise of its just right to self-defense, which did not hurt anyone, under the unchanged and boring illegal pretext of violation of the UN 'resolution'," Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) quoted Kim saying.
The party official said that the missile launch was conducted while adhering to all precautions ensuring the safe passage of aircraft and international maritime activity.
"No one has any justification for slandering the DPRK's launch of new-type ICBM," Kim stated.
The official further stated that "very unlucky things will wait for the US" as Pyongyang intends to work on manufacturing and testing "the most overwhelming" nuclear deterrent until the United States and its allies halt their provocative actions in the vicinity of the DPRK.
The UNSC, Kim said, would be responsible for the possible outbreak of nuclear war in the Korean Peninsula as it has "worked hard to categorically restrain the DPRK from exercising its legitimate right to self-defense while being on" the US's side.
On Thursday, the UN Security Council held an urgent meeting slamming the DPRK for the launch of an intercontinental ballistic missile adding that the country's actions violate various resolutions passed by the council.
The missile in question is the Hwasong-18 intercontinental ballistic missile, which flew over 1,000 kilometers at an altitude of 6,000 kilometers on a lofted trajectory.
