The Lebanese Army is shouldering major responsibilities on multiple fronts and is entering a critical phase where it will undertake sensitive duties, Commander General Rodolphe Haykal stated, adding that the Army will take all necessary steps to ensure the success of its mission while prioritizing the preservation of civil peace and internal stability.

Haykal's remarks came during an emergency meeting in Yarzeh, attended by the leadership staff, operational unit and regiment commanders, and several officers, to discuss the latest developments concerning Lebanon and the Army during the current exceptional period, marked by the repeated violations and attacks by the Israeli enemy.

The top military commander added that the army has made immense sacrifices and lost martyrs in the line of their national duty, vowing that nothing will deter them from continuing to uphold their responsibilities across all Lebanese regions and throughout the border areas.

General Haykal continued by stating that the army is maintaining the necessary communication with Syrian authorities regarding the control of the northern and eastern borders, as it serves a mutual interest for both parties.

He concluded by affirming that the Army Command is continuing its efforts to enhance the institution's capabilities and improve the conditions of its personnel by relying on its own capacities and the support of brotherly and friendly nations.

'Israel' audaciously continues to violate South Lebanon

This comes as "Israel" continues its violations of the ceasefire agreement, launching airstrikes across the country and killing several individuals while sowing terror and chaos.

The Lebanese Ministry of Health announced on Friday, August 29, that one Lebanese citizen was killed in yet another Israeli violation, which struck a vehicle in the Nabatieh district of southern Lebanon.

On Thursday, Israeli occupation forces carried out a series of airstrikes on the outskirts of the southern towns of al-Qatrani, al-Jarmaq, and al-Mahmoudiyah. An Israeli drone also dropped four bombs on Kfar Kila, one of which struck a municipal vehicle, causing material damage.

Meanwhile, Israeli forces stationed at Roueissat al-Alam position opened fire toward the outskirts of Kfar Chouba.

Another Israeli airstrike targeted the Jabbour Heights in Western Bekaa, in the Bekaa governorate.
