"Israel's" ongoing attacks on Lebanon, particularly in the South, have created a major national and moral responsibility for the country, Lebanon's Health Minister Rakan Nassereddine stated on Sunday, emphasizing that the battlefield is no longer limited to a single front but has expanded to affect every Lebanese household.
In a visit to the city of Hermel in northeastern Lebanon, Nassereddine announced that the death toll had risen from 23 to 28 in the past month, emphasizing that "these fallen individuals have families and loved ones, and it is the state's duty to stand with them."
Furthermore, the minister of health stated that "in the face of this Israeli rampage against our nation, the Lebanese Army cannot remain exposed, as it is performing its national duty despite the airstrikes targeting its northern and southern positions, and we salute every single one of its members, from the leadership down to the youngest soldier."
Nassereddine emphasized his support for every national initiative to protect Lebanon, counter the aggression, and repel the occupation, adding that "the moral strength the army possesses today is far more important than any material capabilities."
'Israel' ceaselessly violates Lebanon
The Israeli occupation continues to breach the November 2024 ceasefire agreement, with ongoing shelling and incursions into towns along the border with occupied Palestine, in addition to further attacks targeting the Bekaa region and Beirut's Southern Suburb.
Earlier on Sunday, Al Mayadeen's correspondent reported that an Israeli drone strike killed one person between the towns of al-Suwwaneh and Khirbet Selem in South Lebanon, after targeting a pickup truck with three missiles.
On Saturday, a total of three citizens were killed and 11 others were injured in several Israeli attacks on South Lebanon, a few hours apart. In detail, in the latest attack, an Israeli drone targeted a car in the southern Lebanese town of Baraachit, killing one citizen and injuring four others.
Another Israeli drone targeted a vehicle between the Jneim area, east of Shebaa, and Rashaya al-Wadi, killing its two passengers, Al Mayadeen’s correspondent in southern Lebanon reported on Saturday, citing the Lebanese Health Ministry.
Just about an hour earlier, our correspondent had reported that an Israeli drone targeted a vehicle near Salah Ghandour Hospital in the town of Bint Jbeil, South Lebanon, with two missiles, injuring seven.
5,163 violations as of November 3, 2025
New data covering the period from November 27, 2024, to November 3, 2025, thoroughly documented thousands of Israeli violations in Lebanon by air, land, and sea; all unfolding under total impunity.
The total number of violations recorded stood at 5,163, divided as follows;
- Aerial: 2,850 attacks
- Ground: 2,150 attacks
- Maritime: 163 attacks
309 Lebanese citizens were martyred, and 598 others were injured in these attacks.
It is worth noting that recent attacks targeted residential areas and private businesses, damaging infrastructure and heightening tensions. These violations reflect a pattern of disregard for international agreements and contribute to ongoing instability in Lebanon’s southern and border regions, undermining efforts to maintain peace.
