Lebanese MFA: Israeli aggression on Damascus airport terrorist attack
Lebanon's Foreign Ministry denounces the Israeli aggression on Damascus International Airport.
Lebanon's Foreign Ministry released on Sunday a statement denouncing the Israeli aggression that took place on Friday night, targeting Damascus International Airport.
The Foreign Ministry's statement read that Lebanon condemns the Israeli aggression on Damascus airport, and the suspension of its operations, considering it to be a terrorist attack that targeted a key public facility that plays an important role in alleviating the suffering of the Syrian people.
It further added that Lebanon will always stand by the Syrian people against "Israel's" repeated aggressions, which only affirm "Israel's" aggression and its interventionist policies in the region.
Syrian Foreign Minister Faisal Mekdad said on Friday that the Israelis, through their repeated attacks on his country, are seeking to destabilize the region, in order to cover up their "unstable and fragile" conditions.
Mekdad added that "the Israeli attacks aim to strengthen the remaining terrorist groups, including ISIS and the Al-Nusra Front in Syria," noting that "they will not reach any result," stressing that "these attacks will increase the determination of the Syrian people and their government" against occupation and terrorism.
