He detailed that London Police arrested several pro-Palestine supporters as King Charles was delivering the King's Speech in the House of Lords, setting out Sir Keir Starmer's plans for Britain.
Our correspondent reported that when one of the protesters was asked during her arrest what her message to the Palestinian people was, she replied, "Free Palestine and Free Gaza."
King Charles III delivered the King’s speech on Wednesday, outlining the newly appointed Labour government’s pledges of economic stability and combatting irregular immigration to improve European relations deteriorated by Brexit.
Not an isolated incident
On Saturday, four individuals were arrested during a pro-Palestine march in central London, with one arrest related to a placard made.
The march, organized by the Palestine Solidarity Campaign, saw tens of thousands of protesters taking to the streets on the first day of the new Labour government, demanding an immediate ceasefire in Gaza.
The demonstration began in Russell Square and followed a route through the city, culminating in speeches near Portcullis House.
Concurrently, a group of pro-Palestie protesters gathered opposite Downing Street, marshaled by Metropolitan Police officers.
The UK has been witnessing massive demonstrations in support of Gaza, condemning the ongoing Israeli genocide against Palestinians in the besieged strip and urging for an immediate ceasefire.
This comes as the Ministry of Health in Gaza announced in its daily report on the 285th day of the war that the number of Palestinians killed in Gaza due to the Israeli genocidal war ongoing since October 7 has now reached 38,794, in addition to 89,364 injuries.
