The legislative and regional elections, held on May 25, came ten months after the re-election of Maduro. His Chavista party achieved a sweeping victory, reflecting continued political dominance.

According to the National Electoral Council, Maduro’s party secured 23 out of 24 state governor positions and won majority seats in the National Assembly, solidifying the president’s mandate and the party's control over Venezuela's political landscape.

'An irreversible trend'

The Vice President of the National Electoral Council, Carlos Quintero, announced that 93.01% of polling stations had reported as of 11:00 pm local time. The voter turnout in Venezuela reached 42.63% of eligible voters.

Quintero confirmed that the Great Patriotic Pole Simon Bolívar alliance obtained 4,553,484 votes, representing 82.68% of the total. This secured 40 out of the 50 contested legislative seats, according to what he described as an irreversible trend. Since then, the National Electoral Board has authorized regional boards to begin formal allocation of those confirmed positions.

Describing the event as a demonstration of national sovereignty, Quintero stated, "It is time to act with responsibility and respect toward the results that express the sovereign will of the people."
