Martyr Deif inflicted defeat on 'Israel' in Al-Aqsa Flood: Hezbollah
Hezbollah eulogized Al-Qassam Brigades leader martyr Mohammad Deif, highlighting his pivotal role in confronting the Israeli occupation, and emphasizing that he dedicated his life to resisting the occupation.
Hezbollah extended its deepest condolences and congratulations to Hamas, the Palestinian Resistance factions, and the Palestinian people on the martyrdom of al-Qassam Brigades' Commander-in-Chief Mohammad Deif and a group of his senior comrades from the Brigades' military council.
The Lebanese group also offered its condolences specifically to the families of these martyrs.
In a statement, Hezbollah highlighted Deif’s pivotal role in confronting the Israeli occupation, emphasizing that he dedicated his life to resisting the occupation entity and inflicted defeats upon it, particularly in Operation Al-Aqsa Flood, of which he was one of its chief architects and field commanders.
Hezbollah expressed utmost pride in these leaders "who remained on the battlefield of resistance until their last moments, dedicating everything they could to defend their people’s dignity and striving for their freedom and independence."
Deif and his comrades "will remain symbols for the free who will continue the path of resistance," the statement affirmed.
Hezbollah further stressed that the blood of the fallen commanders, along with all those martyred in the Al-Aqsa Flood battle, resulted in a victory that forced the enemy into a ceasefire and led to the release of a significant number of Palestinian prisoners and detainees.
It added that these sacrifices would only strengthen the Palestinian people’s determination to stay the course, no matter the cost, and would bring the Ummah closer to the divine promise of victory and dignity for the faithful.
Abu Obeida announces Deif's martyrdom
The Ezzeddine al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of the Hamas movement, announced Thursday the martyrdom of the faction's Commander-in-Chief, Mohammad "Abu Khaled" Deif, alongside several other senior commanders, as part of Operation al-Aqsa Flood.
Speaking in a video published through al-Qassam's official military media channels, spokesperson Abu Obeida said the announcement came "After completing all necessary procedures and addressing all security concerns imposed by the conditions of battle and the field, and after conducting the necessary verifications and taking all relevant measures."
"We announce to our great people, our nation, and all supporters of freedom and resistance around the world the martyrdom of a group of senior fighters and heroic commanders from the General Military Council of the al-Qassam Brigades," he declared.
Abu Obeida came to a close with verse 3:140 from the Holy Quran, saying, "If a wound should touch you - there has already touched the [opposing] people a wound similar to it. And these days [of varying conditions] We alternate among the people so that Allah may make evident those who believe and [may] take to Himself from among you martyrs - and Allah does not like the wrongdoers."
"It is a jihad—victory or martyrdom," he concluded.
