Over a hundred people lost their lives on Thursday due to the ongoing Israeli aggression on Gaza, including a journalist, as prisoner advocacy groups report the death of three detainees from Gaza in occupation prisons, citing torture and mistreatment.
Al Mayadeen's correspondent reported that 115 people were killed in the Gaza Strip by Israeli airstrikes that started at dawn.
Earlier on Thursday, local authorities reported that at least 27 Palestinians were killed and dozens were wounded in Israeli airstrikes that targeted eight residential buildings across Khan Younis in southern Gaza.
The violence spread to western Khan Younis' al-Mawasi district, where Israeli airstrikes hit temporary shelters housing displaced civilians, leaving at least one dead and several wounded as the attacks continued relentlessly through the day, with another round of intense bombing occurring just after noon.
The Gaza government media office announced that the number of journalists killed has now risen to over 210 since the start of the war on Gaza, following the death of Quds News Network journalist Ahmed Al-Helu in an Israeli airstrike on Khan Younis in the southern part of the Strip.
The media office condemned the Israeli occupation's systematic targeting, killing, and assassination of Palestinian journalists, calling on the International Federation of Journalists, the Arab Journalists' Union, and all press organizations worldwide to condemn the deliberate crimes against journalists and media workers in Gaza.
The statement placed full blame on the Israeli occupation, the American government, and the countries actively supporting this genocide, specifically Britain, Germany, and France, for carrying out these horrific, savage war crimes.
Earlier on Thursday morning, journalist Hassan Sammour and several members of his family were killed when Israeli forces bombed his home in eastern Khan Younis.
Israeli prison conditions kill 3 Palestinian detainees
Meanwhile, Palestinian detainee organizations reported Thursday that three Gaza detainees had died in custody: Ayman Abdelhadi Qudeih, Bilal Talal Salama, and Mohammed Ismail Al-Astal.
In a statement, the organizations revealed they had received confirmations from the Israeli occupation military about the deaths of three Gaza detainees. They emphasized that Gaza detainees remain among the most severe cases, exposing systematic crimes and atrocities, including torture, deliberate starvation, medical neglect, and sexual violence.
The organizations noted that in the past few months, the testimonies of Palestinians detained in Israeli prisons represent the harshest and most grueling crimes and violations perpetrated against them.
As of early May, over 10,100 Palestinians remained detained in Israeli prisons, including 37 women, more than 400 children, and 3,577 administrative detainees held without charge. Among them were 1,846 Gaza residents classified by Israel as "unlawful combatants."
