Moscow Welcomes Finnish President's Statements
Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grushko expressed his approval of comments made by Finnish President Sauli Niinistö affirming that the new multipolar world requires a "unification of efforts."
After Finland's demands that European nations modify their stance towards Russia and begin endowing talks, the Russian Foreign Ministry affirmed the comments, expressing the need of the multipolar world to unify efforts.
The Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grushko hoped that comments such as those made by the Finnish President Sauli Niinistö will begin to hold more power due to the new multipolar world requiring uniting efforts, not "building artificial barriers."
Earlier, at a symposium to mark the 60th anniversary of the Finnish Institute of International Affairs, Niinisto called on European countries to alter their policy towards Russia and initiate a constructive dialogue with it.
Grushko noted that Finland belongs to the European Union, which advocates the development of healthy and good-neighborly relations with Russia.
