The Palestinian Health Ministry announced on Saturday evening that 18-year-old Hamdan Abu Alya had succumbed to wounds sustained from Israeli occupation forces' gunfire in the village of Al-Mughayyir, northeast of Ramallah.
Israeli forces had stormed the village earlier in the evening and opened live fire at Abu Alya, hitting him in the back before assaulting him, according to Amin Abu Aliya, the head of the local village council. The young man was rushed to the hospital but later died from his wounds.
Earlier on the same day, a group of settlers, protected by Israeli forces, attacked the village, setting fire to vehicles and "caravans", and assaulting several homes.
On the morning of August 10, Palestinian youth Abdullah Atiyat died from his wounds after Israeli forces shot him during their raid in the city of Areeha in the eastern West Bank. During a raid on several neighborhoods in the city, Israeli forces fired live ammunition, hitting the young man in the upper body before he was rushed to the hospital, where he later died from his wounds.
On July 31st, Khamis Ayyad, a 40-year-old Palestinian, was killed after Israeli settlers set fire to cars outside of his house, prompting him to wake up and try to extinguish the flames, only for the Israeli army to show up and shoot tear gas in his direction, suffocating him.
Ayyad was the second US citizen killed by an Israeli settler attack within one month, following the July 12 killing of 20-year-old Palestinian-American Sayfollah "Saif" Musallet, who was fatally attacked by Israeli settlers while visiting relatives at his family's farm near Ramallah in the occupied West Bank.
Earlier on August 16, Israeli settlers attacked residents in the town of Halhul, north of al-Khalil in the West Bank, wounding an elderly woman, a child, and a young man.
