The Commission of Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs warns of a "sudden health setback" that could lead to the death of prisoner Khalil Awawdeh, who is on hunger strike for the 92nd day.
The Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs Commission has warned of a "sudden health setback" that could lead to the death of prisoner Khalil Awawdeh, who is on hunger strike for the 92nd day.
The Spokesperson for the Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs Commission, Hassan Abd Rabbo, said the prisoner Awawdeh is still being held in the Ramle prison clinic, warning of a real danger threatening his life due to severe dehydration.
He warned that Awawdeh could suffer from a sudden health setback that could lead to his death or severely hurt his nervous system due to damage to the functions of his vital organs.
Eight days ago, the occupation authorities returned the Awawde to the Ramle prison clinic, despite his very serious health condition, a day after the Israeli Supreme Court admitted him to the hospital due to his condition.

Awawdeh suffers from severe joint pains, headaches, severe dizziness, and blurred vision, and is unable to walk and moves in a wheelchair.
The occupation detention administration has repeatedly transferred Awawdeh to civilian hospitals, claiming that he will undergo medical examinations, but every time, he is returned without conducting them, under the pretext that he is not in a critical situation.
The Israeli occupation authorities arrested Awawdeh on December 27, 2021, and an administrative detention order was issued against him for a period of six months. He has previously been arrested several times since 2002, and this is the fifth arrest, including three administrative detentions.
