In turn, Maduro, on behalf of the government and people of Venezuela, thanked Pezeshkian for the gesture and supported the desire to move forward, in a united manner, to deepen the cooperative relations between the two brotherly countries.
Maduro vows to prevent coup attempts
Maduro disclosed during the Grand National March in Defense of Peace that 80% of the criminals arrested in the country had been trained in Texas, Colombia, and Peru to execute a coup.
He added that these countries have refused to recognize Maduro’s election victory and noted that the arrested individuals did not take part in the voting process.
The Venezuelan president stressed that the "fascist right attempted to attack and overthrow the National Electoral Council's electronic voting system," describing the extreme right as embodying "hatred and arrogance," framing it as a form of "foreign meddling and war."
Maduro also said that 2,000 individuals have so far been detained, tersely stating that "there will be justice" this time. He added that these detainees do not participate in elections, call for protests, then "fill society with hatred and attack state institutions."
The president emphasized that Venezuela remains peaceful, reiterating that no one can "impose a climate of violence or lead us to coup scenarios."
