Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian vowed on Friday that the Islamic Republic of Iran will deliver a powerful and legitimate response to the "Israel's" act of aggression on Iran, warning that the enemy will deeply regret its actions.
"Israel" launched a major attack on Iran in the early hours of Friday, targeting residential buildings, nuclear facilities, and military infrastructure across Iran.
In a televised address to the nation, Pezeshkian clarified that Iran would not remain silent in the face of "Israel's" criminal and internationally unlawful attack.
“The Iranian nation and the country's officials will not remain silent in the face of this crime, and the legitimate and powerful response from the Islamic Republic of Iran will make the enemy regret its foolish action,” he declared.
The Iranian president condemned the Israeli aggression as a blatant violation of international norms, describing it as yet another example of the Zionist regime’s criminal behavior.
“The aggression was in violation of all international obligations and displayed the savage and criminal nature of the child-killing and aggressive Zionist regime on the international stage,” Pezeshkian said.
Iran reaffirms its pursuit of peace, and defense
Pezeshkian emphasized that Iran has consistently acted in favor of global and regional peace, engaging in efforts to promote dialogue and confidence-building measures.
“Just as the Islamic Republic has made every effort to achieve peace and tranquility in the world and the region and has proven its full readiness for long-term dialogue... it will also act decisively in response to the aggression and in legitimate defense of the country's territorial integrity,” he said.
In closing, the president expressed confidence in the resilience of the Iranian people during this period of heightened threats, affirming that national unity would remain Iran’s greatest strength.
“The Iranian nation will overcome these difficult times like the past, by maintaining their unity,” Pezeshkian stated.
The speech marks a clear escalation in rhetoric from Tehran, signaling that a formal response to the Israeli aggression may be imminent as Iran prepares to showcase its self-defense capabilities.
