The Palestinian Islamic Jihad Movement (PIJ) in occupied Palestine asserted that the Israeli occupation committed a clear breach of the Gaza ceasefire agreement through a series of brutal attacks overnight. The movement stated that the bombings targeted multiple areas within the Gaza Strip, including tents sheltering displaced Palestinians.
Muhammad al-Hajj Musa, the movement’s media spokesperson, said on Wednesday that the continued targeting of civilians, especially women and children, demonstrates the occupation’s persistence in its systematic aggression against Gaza’s population. He emphasized that the use of flimsy and false pretexts to justify killings, alongside the policy of targeted assassinations, proves that the occupation has not respected the ceasefire agreement, neither in spirit nor in practice.
Al-Hajj Musa stressed that all Palestinian Resistance factions have fully adhered to the terms of the ceasefire agreement from the moment it was announced, and have not violated it in any way.
He also noted that the Israeli occupation is obstructing the retrieval of its own soldiers’ bodies by deliberately preventing the entry of equipment and technical assistance teams into Gaza. This, he said, is part of a broader effort to mislead international public opinion and place blame on the Resistance for delays in implementing ceasefire-related provisions.
Mediators and US administration held responsible
The spokesperson held international mediators responsible for the repeated Gaza ceasefire violations, calling on them to take a firm and serious position toward the occupation’s actions, stressing that these violations directly undermine any efforts toward stability.
Hajj Musa further emphasized that the US administration bears direct responsibility for the continuation of the aggression, accusing Washington of enabling the occupation rather than holding it accountable. He urged the US to stop justifying the occupation’s war crimes and instead pressure it to abide by the agreement it claimed to support.
Concluding his statement, Hajj Musa called for the continuation of global popular movements in solidarity with Gaza and in rejection of the Israeli occupation’s violations, describing such actions as an effective means of pressure to stop the ongoing aggression and demand accountability.
At least 90 martyrs from Israeli strikes on Gaza since dawn
Medical sources in hospitals across the Gaza Strip reported early on Wednesday that at least 100 Palestinians, including at least 46 children, were martyred in a new wave of Israeli airstrikes. The attacks targeted the homes and tents of displaced Palestinians in multiple areas of the Strip.
This escalation marks a serious violation of the ceasefire agreement that came into effect on October 11, raising concerns over the safety of civilians who had sought shelter in what were considered safe zones.
