Politico: Biden growing increasingly frustrated in White House
A report by Politico discussed some events that point to challenges Biden is facing, even inside the White House.
On Monday, Politico discussed events currently ongoing in the White House, suggesting that Joe Biden is frustrated because he was kept out of the loop about the direness of the "baby formula shortage" problem.
Families across the US are dealing with an increasing scarcity of baby formula. The shortage, which has been exacerbated by pandemic-related supply chain issues and recent product recalls, has caused the price of formula to skyrocket in some communities.
The shortage began in 2021, owing primarily to production or distribution issues, and by mid-March, 29 percent of formula inventory was out of stock nationwide.
Moreover, according to Politico, Biden has also been exasperated by the fact that his poll numbers have sunk below those of Donald Trump.
Biden angry over visit to Saudi Arabia
Regarding the possibility of Biden's visit to Saudi Arabia, this also drew the US President's ire, as he is reported to have "angrily rejected" the possibility of meeting with Mohammad bin Salman, the Saudi Crown Prince, before giving in afterward.
Following a press briefing on Wednesday, White House Spokeswoman Karine Jean-Pierre responded to a question about previous statements made by US President Joe Biden against Saudi Arabia, which he described as a "pariah", saying the remarks still stand.
Jean-Pierre was asked how after US intelligence assessed that Mohammed Bin Salman (MBS) was behind the murder of journalist Jamal Khashoggi, a visit to Saudi Arabia would be consistent with Biden's remarks last year that Saudi Arabia would "pay the price, and make them, in fact, the pariah that they are."
Jean-Pierre responded by saying the President's remarks concerning the Kingdom "still stand" and that she has no visit to announce at the present time.
Politico also noted the role being played by Biden's wife Jill Biden, and his sister Valerie Biden Owens, as they've been frustrated over White House staff keeping Biden cloistered and being handled with "kid gloves".
With Biden's approval ratings sinking, he is well aware that former presidents, such as George H.W Bush and Jimmy Carter, were both felled by shaky economies and rising inflation, issues the US is facing now amid the impact of the sanctions regime on Russia, which hit supply chains on a global level.
