Poll: Americans say Biden should encourage 'Israel' to stop war
Biden is under particular strain inside his own party over the war on Gaza where Democrats are more sympathetic to the Palestinian people and his handling of the war has been abysmal in the eyes of younger Americans and Arab and Muslim Americans.
A rising proportion of Americans want President Biden to push "Israel" to end the aggression on Gaza and Biden's handling of the issue has dropped to its lowest point yet.
The survey, taken prior to Iran's retaliatory attack on "Israel," found little support among the American public for military action against Iran if Iran struck "Israel." Only 25% believed the US should take military action against Iran in such a scenario and 32% believed the US should not get involved.
Biden is under particular strain inside his own party over the war on Gaza, which as killed over 33,000 Palestinians, where Democrats are more sympathetic to the Palestinian people and his handling of the war has been abysmal in the eyes of younger Americans and Arab and Muslim Americans.
Compared to last October, fewer Democrats and independents currently believe the US should provide weapons and supplies to "Israel." That viewpoint maintains a consistent majority among Republicans. Only 40% of those polled believe that the US should continue sending weapons to the occupation, compared to 48% who thought so in October.
In terms of humanitarian, aid to Gaza, a total of 63% of those polled believe aid should be sent to Palestinians, compared with only 57% who felt that way in October.
Half of the nation, 51% feels that the war would exacerbate the threat of terrorism in the US and most Americans, 60% believe the US administration is not doing all necessary to return the American captives.
Over 60% of those polled believe that the war on Gaza is due to morality and beliefs, as well as its security and strategic interests.
Biden's approval rating among ages 18-29 is down to 43% compared to 55%. Americans are more likely to disapprove of him overall if they believe he is not handling the economy properly than they are of the conflict.
Following the most recent inflation data and the subsequent stock market plunge, the months-long surge in economic confidence has temporarily paused. Views of it are still hovering in the mid-30s, after steadily increasing during the winter. The number of Americans anticipating economic growth has also leveled down.

Democratic voters were shown to be increasingly critical of Joe Biden's policy toward "Israel", revealing that the President should employ harsher tactics against the occupation.
A poll by Politico, published on Sunday, showed that 33% of Democratic voters believed Biden should be stricter when it comes to "Israel's" conduct, while 8% said he was already being "too tough". 42% of voters, on the other hand, stated that Biden's policy was "just right".
In contrast, Republicans and Independents exhibited more transparent and harsher views when it came to Biden's approach toward the Israeli war on Gaza. 34% of all voters across the American political spectrum [Democrats, Independents, and Republicans] said Biden was not tough enough against "Israel", while 17% said he was "too tough".
It is worth noting that the survey was conducted before Iran carried out its retaliatory operation against "Israel".
