Cautioning against the risks posed by the Israeli war on Gaza and Lebanon, Iranian Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, emphasized that regional issues should be resolved peacefully through diplomacy and political means.

Araghchi made these comments upon arriving in Istanbul, Turkiye, on Friday morning, where the third round of South Caucasus meetings, known as the 3+3 format, is scheduled for later today.

He told reporters, "Given the situation in the region and the invasions of the Zionist regime and the dangerous conditions in the region, I made trips to the region in the recent round, after Jordan and Egypt, now I have come to Turkey."

"In the meantime, this trip has coincided with the second meeting of 3+3 foreign ministers," he added.

He elaborated that there is a common understanding of the danger of escalations in Gaza and Lebanon, referring to the situation of refugees and the possibility of a regional war.

The top diplomat added, "We have always had good relations with Turkey, and in the meeting with the foreign minister and the president of this country, there will be regional consultations."

He added that the "3+3" summit will take place without Georgia's participation while noting that the other regional countries have expressed their willingness to engage in discussions and coordinate on Caucasus issues.

"We must be careful that regional issues are resolved peacefully and that security and political arrangements in the region bring peace and stability in the region," Araghchi concluded.

It is noteworthy that Araghchi conducted a regional tour to several countries, including Lebanon, Syria, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Qatar, Iraq, and Jordan, "to stop the escalation and establish peace in the region in light of the escalation and regional developments."

His trip to Istanbul comes after his latest to Cairo on Thursday, as part of his tour. During a meeting with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, Araghchi emphasized the importance of utilizing all diplomatic efforts to prevent the escalation of the security situation in the region and to alleviate the suffering of the people of Palestine and Lebanon.

Araghchi also underscored the necessity of mobilizing all available resources to halt the crimes of the Israeli entity and to provide immediate humanitarian assistance to the displaced populations in Palestine and Lebanon.
