Sayyed Nasrallah: Victory was the fruit of years of sacrifices
Earlier today, the Secretary-General of Hezbollah Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah said on the occasion of the Resistance and Liberation Day that "those who think that the battle with the Israeli enemy has ended are delusional, as there is part of our land that is still under occupation," noting that "there are those who seek to devalue the achieved victory, and we must prevent that."
"All generations and all the Lebanese people must be reminded that the victory that was achieved did not come just like that; rather, it was the fruit of many years of sacrifices,” he added.
"The liberation of Palestine, [performing] prayers in Al-Aqsa Mosque, the demise of the occupation entity, and confidence and certainty in our victory" are all aspirations that Sayyed Nasrallah said he sees as inevitable.

Sayyed Nasrallah confirmed that today, "the outstanding human capacity in the Axis of Resistance is met by the decline in Israeli manpower and [a state of] utmost fear of engaging in any fight."
On this occasion, Sayyed Nasrallah expressed his gratitude to all those who contributed to the victory by making sacrifices, spearheaded by the martyrs, the wounded, the liberated prisoners, and the freedom fighters, as well as the families of all the aforementioned, not to mention all the people who embrace the Resistance.
He also thanked the Lebanese army, security forces, Palestinian factions, presidents, political forces, and everyone who supported the Resistance in Lebanon.
Sayyed Nasrallah also hailed the support of Iran and Syria, who stood by the Resistance in Lebanon and still do.
Resistance and Liberation Day
The liberation that took place on May 25 of the year 2000 is seen widely as a turning point in the greater Arab struggle against the Israeli occupation and colonization of Arab lands.
It became a founding element in the story of the Arab and Lebanese people’s struggle, in general, and for the people of Southern Lebanon, in particular.
As the Israeli occupation of Lebanon began in 1978 and then expanded in 1982, the Lebanese Resistance factions took up their arms and dealt heavy blows to the Israeli occupation troops present on Lebanese soil via various military actions.
The Resistance project was launched in Beirut in 1982 by only a few men who were frustrated by how the people under Israeli occupation were left to meet their fate by everyone as the country was engulfed in civil war. Taking solid actions rather than only words, these men decided to stand their ground and fight. The oldest of these men hadn’t reached his thirties, yet managed to change the fate of Lebanon and the region for good.
Between the years 1996 and 2000, 4,928 Resistance operations were carried out, 1,528 of which were conducted in 1999 alone.
The last Israeli soldier left Lebanese soil (except for Shebaa farms and Kfarshoba hills which remain occupied until today) at 6:48 am on May 24 of the year 2000.
The day the occupation completed its forced withdrawal from Lebanese territories came to be known as the Liberation and Resistance Day in Lebanon, a day that is commemorated and celebrated all over the country annually.
